Graphic Designers are creative, imaginative and excel in the conception of two dimensional imagery. Graphic design basically is visual problem solving using text or graphical elements. Graphic designers are leaders in some of today's most dynamic fields such as advertising, publishing, television, and visual communications. They generate the visual presentation and design of goods, including websites, magazines, book covers, corporate stationery, television graphics, and billboards.

ACADEMIC FIRST SEMESTER
GDV 101 – Graphic Design Course 1a – 8 Credits The course is a basic but intensive introduction of the graphic design process. The studio design course is an introduction to graphic design theory and its application. The course rapidly moves from to the fundamental design principals of form, space and order to the realization of detailed architectural drawings.

CD 140- Interactive Media Design- - 3 Credits Explores application software, tools, and skills required to create 2d imagery, animations and web site design using a variety of Adobe programs. The course explores the leading software packages used in the field such as Dreamweaver, Flash, Illustrator and Photoshop with emphasis on creativity and effective visual design.
CD 160- 3D Computer Modeling-3DStudio Max - 3 Credits The course is designed for those who have basic knowledge in graphic design and want to advance their skills in 3D modeling and design techniques. Upon completion of both courses, the participants will be able to produce professionally executed 3D graphics and animation using Autodesk 3ds Max.
VIS 110-Introductory Drawing 1a - 3 Credits
The courses provides a complete introduction to the art of hand drawing utilizing pencil, ink, and charcoal with the objective of mastering shading, contour, gesture, and perspective techniques. The coursework follows a series of studies that introduce basic drawing techniques, media, and composition through examination and study of ordinary forms.
HUM 150- Art History - 3 Credits The course begins with the Florentine art dating from the end of the 1200’s. This course covers the most key artists practicing in the region of Tuscany from the 1300’s, until the early 1500’s. The course covers historical, social and political events and analyzes their influence on the artistic production. Many class sessions are held on-site in the form of field trips to museums or churches to enhance the in-class lectures.
HUM 120- Italian Language 1A - 1 Credit The courses will focus mainly on spoken conversational Italian, with themes relating to common life, travel and business travel situations including greetings, days of the week, asking for directions, food, making plans, telling time, purchases and dealing with money and numbers. |

ACADEMIC SECOND SEMESTER:
GDV 102 – Graphics Design Course 1b - 8 Credits An investigation of more advanced interior design problems including commercial design, exhibitions, and retail. Projects assigned during the second semester involve comprehensive problem solving from concept development through to the final presentation stage and including detailed plans, sections, elevations and renderings. |

GDV 170- Digital Photography - 3 Credits An in-depth exploration into two-dimensional digital imaging with an emphasis on creating exhibition quality work. Lecture topics will cover contemporary digital image makers, the use of digital cameras, advanced Adobe Photoshop techniques, scanning and output options.
CD 141- Computer Design. Adobe - 3 Credits Explores application software, tools, and skills required to create 2d imagery, site design using a variety of Adobe programs. The course explores the leading software packages used in the field such as Dreamweaver, Flash, Illustrator and Photoshop with emphasis on creativity and effective visual design.
CD 161- 3D Computer Rendering- 3D Studio Max - 3 Credits This course is a more in depth exploration of the software 3d Studio Max. Upon course completion, participants will be able to produce professionally executed 3D graphics and animation using Autodesk 3ds Max.
VIS 121- Images and illustration 1 - 3 Credits The course examines the multifaceted visual problems and formats that an illustrator will encounter in today’s modern day market. The program emphasizes the design of abstract, client-based illustrations for use in commercial applications and studies creative strategies for the generation of concepts. The course structure instructs blending of traditional hand drawing together with digital illustration media. The result is for dynamic visual marketing materials for use in professional campaigns.
HUM 121-Italian Language 1b - 1 Credit The courses will continue to focus mainly on spoken conversational Italian. This more advanced level class will start to deal with general work and business discussions.

ACADEMIC LEVEL-2ND and 3rd year
The second year and third year of the Academic level are much more thorough in exploration of design concepts. Larger projects are developed with a more detailed approach to creative problem-solving and the ability to offer solutions that are effective in the business of commercial graphics. |
